Tracking through your stake address is the ONLY way to truly see the entirety of your assets on Cardano. Currently, any small transaction in or out changes where your assets are, tracking a wallet address will only show you the last transaction sent to it. To accurately track you would need to send the entire balance back to that original wallet address after every small transaction, including stake reward.
